Glass windows and doors look great. They let in more light in a room and make it look brighter and bigger. But they only have a stunning impact, if they are clean and clear. A dirty glass window will give us a hazy view, let in filtered light and in general give the room an unkempt and untidy appearance. Many people feel cleaning glass doors and windows is a big deal and shirk away from it. However, with our 5 simple tips anyone can make their glass window and doors squeaky clean in no time!

Remove the dust

The first step in making your glass windows, doors or in fact any glass surface shine, is to rub and scrub away the dust. For this using a brush with long bristles will come in particularly handy. Once you have dry dusted them, you can use a little bit of soap, water and a sponge to further clean the glass surface.

Hot water for too much dirt

If the glass doors and windows of your home have not been cleaned for a very long time, using cold water won't suffice. In such a case, use hot water. Be careful not to burn yourself while using hot water. It is best to wear rubber gloves and take a sponge with a handle while using hot water to clean glass surfaces.

Vinegar for tough stains

If you have some tough stains on the glass doors and windows of your home, you can use vinegar. Mixing a tablespoon of vinegar with a glass of water and a tiny bit of alcohol can create a cleaner just as good as the one's you get in the market! So try this home remedy instead of buying some expensive cleaning product.

Cleaning and drying it right

While cleaning, a common mistake that a lot of people make, is to clean in all directions, which then leads to lines in opposite directions on the glass surface. To get an even finish, move your hand in only one direction be it left to right or right to left, throughout the surface. Also, after you are done washing and cleaning, remember to dry all the glass surfaces with a soft cloth to ensure there are no blotches anywhere.

Clean frequently

And finally, don't leave the cleaning of your home windows and doors as a once a year activity. If you clean them once in a month or two, you won't need to make that much effort and the glass surfaces will remain sparkling and shiny like the one in this bathroom designed by SAKURAYAMA-ARCHITECT-DESIGN. If the idea of cleaning the glass surfaces in you home has given you an appetite to organize it as well, here are 6 tips that will come in handy!
