Casa PN and the zda Architects in Mexico extend a warm welcome! Today's home tour is sure to delight--a house consisting of three large modules that have been stacked on top of each other and tucked into a lush hillside, making itself a modern version of a fairy tale home in the countryside. Combine this already eclectic design with the fact that this home offers serious opulence between two green hillsides, and we are certain you will be impressed.

We are going to start with the centre of the house, the living room, which has been set in the bottom module, nestled in a tiny valley between two hills. Come and take a look…

The seamless living room

Lush, long-growing ivy sweeps from the roof at the right, planted on the roof of one of the modules so that the outdoor patio area feels organic and relaxed as possible.

Large plate glass doors form the entire wall at the entrance to the central living area on both sides, which means that the patio and living space can be made totally seamless on nice days. What a treat!

Tub centre

We love the grey striped wood along the walls and countertops in this bathroom and perhaps the only thing to love more is the porcelain bowl tub in the centre.

It is rare for tubs to be free-standing with such a sunny view so this feature gets two thumbs up for originality!

A second living room

This second living area is a bit more classical but still supremely sophisticated and innovative--especially since it shares an open hallway with the bathroom that boasts a central tub.

Sunlight seems to dash in from all sides--you are sure not to fall short on picturesque views when lounging in this space!

The view from outside

Our first look at this house from the outside really shows how modern and trailblazing the architecture is.

The bottom floor's library and piano room walks out onto another, green outside terrace while the top rooms of the house hang suspended just above, lit up with spotlighting from below, cutting a really dramatic and rousing architectural figure.

Endless windows

The whole house from the back at night shows just how visually interesting this house is : metal grating wraps around the top module in a modern twist on brutalist architecture while hairy ferns and ivy top the bottom bit of the house like a soft and fluffy green cap.

Truly, by now it should be clear that everything about this home is bespeaks the genius of unconventionality and modern design imagination. If you love this house, we recommend taking a look at the house of multifaceted minimalism.
